POLICE OUT IN FORCE FOR OPERATION SAFE RETURN

Holiday makers along the Mid North Coast can expect to see plenty more police on the roads as they ramp up operations ahead of the Australia Day celebrations.

The state-wide Operation Safe Return will target speed, drink driving and seatbelt offences.

“there’s an increased police presence on all roads ah traffic and highway command have additional resources in the Manning Great Lakes as well as all general duties officers will be targeting rbt operations,”Insp. John Sullivan said.

The campaign marks the end of a busy holiday period for local police.

Double demerit points came into effect this morning and will run through until Tuesday night.
