OFF-DUTY COP CHARGED WITH RESISTING ARREST IN TAMWORTH

An off-duty police officer has been charged, following an incident at a Tamworth hotel this morning.
About 2:30am, the 44-year-old was asked to leave a hotel by security staff, but allegedly refused.
Police say officers then intervened and also asked him to leave, but he refused.
It’s alleged an altercation followed, before the Senior Constable was arrested.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station, where he was charged with refusing to leave a licensed premises, assaulting police and resisting police.
He was granted bail, and is scheduled to appear in court on January 28.
