The New England federal electorate is set to expand following the Australian Electoral Commission’s latest boundary changes.
It will gain nearly 4,000 voters from the Gwydir Shire, and almost 10,000 in the Upper Hunter, which includes towns such as Murrurundi, Merriwa and Scone.
The Parkes electorate will also expand, gaining more than 8,500 voters from the Gunnedah Shire.
The changes come into effect on February 25.
