Staff and waiting passengers at Lawrence witnessed a bizarre incident as the ferry docked just after 6 last night.
A 39-year-old Yamba man drove his red station-wagon, along with its female passenger, into the Clarence River.
He then allegedly assaulted a ferry operator before stripping naked.
Police later arrested the man, while the ferry’s departure was delayed for around an hour.
