INDUSTRY OPINION ON DRAFT WATER PLAN SOUGHT
The New South Wales Government is looking to secure water availability along the state’s north coast.
It’s unveiled a new draft water-sharing plan would regulate water extraction and trading at 14 groundwater sources between the Tweed and Newcastle.
It would ensure water can always be accessed by agriculture and industry.
If introduced, the plan would also include environmental protections, designed to provide water security over its ten year life.
