FLOODING LEADS TO FISH DEATHS
A large number of dead fish and other marine life has surfaced on the Hunter River following last week’s flooding.
The kill was spotted around Hexham boat ramp today.
The Department of Primary Industries says it’s aware of the problem, and is working with Newcastle Council and other authorities.
It attributes the fish kill to low oxygen levels in the water – which is common after flooding.
