Around 250 residents on the outskirts of Maitland still can’t access their homes by car – so today – the SES paddled in.

As a resident of Oakhampton heights I commend the SE personnel for their efforts, this ferry across the flooded road was TOTALLY unnecessary. There is a access road through walka water works which either Maitland City Council or the SES kept locked preventing residents from driving out. This access was used on the Thursday prior. The buerocracy has some answering to do as it left the residents trapped for no reason.
