20-YEAR-OLD SWIMMER MISSING AFTER BEING CAUGHT IN A RIP AT HAWKS NEST

Police hold grave concerns for a missing swimmer at Hawks Nest.
The 20-year-old man, who was holidaying in the area from Sydney, went for a swim at the southern end of Bennetts Beach with three others late yesterday afternoon, when they got caught in a rip.
One male managed to swim to shore and raise the alarm.
Two others were rescued by a lifeguard.
Multiple agencies continued looking for their search between Yakaba Headland and Broughton Island from first light today, but they’ve so far failed to find any trace of the man.
Lifesavers say conditions were extremely dangerous and the beach was closed yesterday.
More to come.
