  1. Just what marina is he referring to – We in Port Stephens can assure Cr Luke we are not overkeen on financing his Bathers Way either !

  2. I am appreciative of the Bather’s Way so far, however, for many years we could drive to the Bogey Hole, for many reasons the disabled and elderly also like to view this wonderful site. Then the Rock that could not be moved by man or machine blocked the road for about 3years, and when the penny dropped at NCC they found it could be moved within an hour. I really don’t know if the South Newcastle Beach Skate Park is a success or not. But hidden away, no more trains to top of town, maybe it’s time to move it too. Now also for about 60 years the King Edward Park road was regarded as the premier Hill Climb Track by Sir Jack Brabham. This road used to give tourists a view of Newcastle and King Edward Park rarely seen by many. Now the Newcastle City Council has a vision to join the Bather’s Way at Newcastle Beach with Bar Beach, that will be interesting, by destroying the road system that for many years enjoyed by many to build a waliking track. This needs more ideas from the public. Build a new track beside the road near South Newcastle and pass around over the Bogey Hole to pass Susan Gilmore Beach and join up with Bar beach.
