Former mining magnate Nathan Tinkler could once again have a presence in the Hunter Valley.
The controversial businessman – who’s the Chief Executive of Australian Pacific Coal – is in negotiations to buy the Dartbrook operation near Aberdeen.
Anglo American is seeking to sell its 83 per cent share in the mine for up to $50-million.
Dartbrook is currently in care and maintenance mode.
The deal is expected to be done by mid next year.
