WEAPON PARTS, AMMUNITION AND DRUGS FOUND IN RAIDS

Two men have been charged with firearms offences after police carried out search warrants at Gloucester and in the Hunter Valley.
Police from the Firearms Squad and Manning-Great Lakes command raided properties at Gloucester, Farley and Broke after learning of the alleged illegal sale of a rifle.
In Gloucester they found a rifle stock, silencer and ammunition. Registered firearms were taken from the property after the owner’s licence was suspended.
At Farley, police found an improvised explosive device, cannabis and fireworks. An 18-year-old man was charged with supplying an unregistered firearm.
At Broke they discovered ammunition, fireworks, a set of handcuffs and a hydroponic cannabis set up.
A 29-year-old man received a court attendance notice in relation to the cannabis.
