The Newcastle Knights have released an update on Alex McKinnon, eight weeks after he suffered a spinal injury in Melbourne.
The second rower has reasonable movement in his upper limbs, but as yet, no fine motor control in his hands, and no consistent controlled movement in his lower torso.
But there are positive signs and McKinnon remains upbeat about his rehabilitation.
