INVERELL POPPIES AHEAD OF MARCH

In preparation for the centenary of the Kurrajong March, five giant poppies have been installed on the Henderson Street roundabout at Inverell.

The statues are a prelude to the re-enactment of the World War One recruitment march, which will be held on January 10.

Inverell Mayor Paul Harmon says “it symbolises that significance of rememberance, so it gets people actually thinking and talking about the fact that we’ve got this significant event happening in Janurary and making sure all our community get involved and particpate.”
