CENTRAL COAST MAN ALLEGEDLY IMPORTS ‘ICE’ BY POST

A Central Coast man has been charged after allegedly attempting to import a large quantity of the drug ‘ice’ by post.

Earlier this month, Police began investigating the attempted importation of approximately 1.6kg of methylamphetamine oil contained within cosmetic bottles.

Officers arrested a 41-year-old man at a unit on Albany Street, Point Frederick over the incident.

Officers executed a search warrant at the home, and allegedly located and seized mobile phones and laptops.

Several unidentified clear liquids were also seized and will be subject to further forensic examination.

He was charged with import commercial quantity of border-controlled drug and supply large commercial quantity of prohibited drug.

He was formally refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Friday August 7.

Investigations are continuing.
