HUNTER SPEEDWAY RIDERS MAKE THEIR MARK

Rohan Tungate has overcome fellow Hunter rider Sam Masters to claim the South Australian Speedway title.
Meanwhile, fresh from his win at the Queensland titles last weekend, Kurri’s Mason Campton was one of the favourites at last night’s New South Wales Championships, held indoors for the first time in Tamworth.
“It’s totally different. You’re riding on something that’s 165 metres and last weekend I raced in Rockhampton, that track was 440, so I’ve gone from one of the biggest to the smallest the next weekend.”
Campton found the going a little tough in his opening heat, squeezed out on the first turn.
He quickly recovered and progressed to the final, where he was eventually beaten by Queensland’s Tyson Nelson.
The results at both state titles are enough to help Campton earn a visa to compete in the 2016 British Speedway League.
