WESTPAC RESCUE CREW AWARDED AFTER 2007 CRASH

A Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew, that survived a terrifying crash in the state’s north west eight years ago, has received a bravery award.
In 2007, the aero-medical team was on its way to a fatal car crash at Warialda, when the helicopter’s engine failed.
While two men stayed with the aircraft, the other two flagged down a motorist, who drove them to the crash scene.
The team was today awarded the New South Wales Ambulance Commissioner’s Commendation for Courage.
