OPERATION STAY ALERT WRAPS UP

A statewide police initiative targeting speeding and drink-driving over the long weekend, has wrapped up.
More than 1,500 random breath tests were conducted in the Manning Great Lakes region alone, during Operation Stay Alert.
Of those, 11 were charged with drink driving.
More than 100 motorists were also caught speeding, including one driver who was allegedly clocked doing 158-kilometres per hour in a 100-zone on the Pacific Highway.
