Port Macquarie Hastings Council’s failed bid to secure funding for an expansion of its airport terminal is to be Reconsidered by the federal government.
A meeting between the Assistant Minister for Infrastructure, Michael McCormack, and Lyne MP David Gillespie, was held in Port Macquarie this morning.
It’s hoped the meeting could lead to the approval of $5-million in funding.
“We had a briefing today from the council and they given us a lot of information we have given them some feedback, the department will given them some feedback and I will certainly be supporting their round three application.”
If the application is approved the Port Macquarie terminal would doubled in size.
