PRAWNERS EXPECT CONTAMINATION RESULTS SOON

Fishermen expect to receive the results of testing, carried out in the wake of the Williamtown contamination issue, by the middle of next week.
Earlier this month, prawners decided to push back the start of the season, until they’re given the all clear.
Meanwhile Paterson MP Bob Baldwin is urging affected commercial fisherman to apply for the federal government’s assistance payments.
Mr Baldwin says more than $100,000 has been issued so far.
