Newcastle’s historic Victoria Theatre will be restored to its former glory, after lying dormant for more than a decade.
The theatre was due to be auctioned today, but selling agent Colliers International has confirmed the building has been sold in a last-minute deal for an undisclosed amount.
Its buyer, Century Venues, previously indicated it plans to restore the old theatre to a working state.
The sale made headlines last month, after its former owner Arthur Laundy put it on the market with a $1 reserve.
