NEW PROPOSAL COULD SEE GLEN INNES GROW MEDICINAL CANNABIS

Member for Northern Tableland Adam Marshall says Glen Innes could be the perfect location to grow medicinal cannabis.

The MP has put a proposal to Primary Industries Minister Niall Blair, highlighting the town’s research station as a potential candidate for medicinal cannabis trials.

The site is owned and operated by the state government, which Mr Marshall says would cut out a lot of red tape.

And there’s already infrastructure at the site, ready to be used.

“It is an ideal location, not just because of its location in terms of climate, but also because it is a site that is easily secured, it is a very large site.”

Glen Innes council has already thrown their support behind the idea.
