JUNIOR ATHLETES PUT BEST FOOT FORWARD
Coaches from the Greater Northern Rugby League Academy put their players to the test today, to gauge off-season fitness levels.
When results come out next month, they’ll be able to compare themselves to others across the state.
“Most people are competitive. So when they see they may not be where they want to be, they’ll strive to try harder.”
The group’s first session together wasn’t just about sport, with four former NRL players emphasising the importance of education.
Andrew Ryan says he produced his best on-field when he had other interests.
“I was starting to do things like work experience or going to TAFE, doing things outside. So I had other things going on.”
