Just when you thought the dramas were behind Newcastle City Council, General manager Ken Gouldthorp has been sensationally sacked, just two years into his five year contract.
Mr Gouldthorp has helped turn around council’s fortunes in his tenure, but according to the mayor that wasn’t enough, and now ratepayers could be footing the bill of a very costly payout.
