NEW ENGLAND TO SEE VALUE IN LIVE CATTLE TRADE
Federal Agriculture and Water Minister Barnaby Joyce believes the New England region is set to benefit from live cattle trading with China.
The comment follows the first shipment of 150 cattle arriving in the Asian country two days ago.
Mr Joyce says the market will continue to grow, with the country accepting up to one million head of cattle.
“These are southern British bred cattle so it shows that the live cattle trade has the potential to come to our electorate and get a better price in our yards, we’ve finalised the China Free Trade agreement, we’ve got that through the parliament.”
