Tamworth medicinal cannabis campaigner Lucy Haslam has been named as one of four state finalists for the ‘Australia’s Local Hero’ award.
Mrs Haslam got behind the push to decriminalise cannabis for terminally ill patients, after her late son Dan was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2010.
The Local Hero Award was introduced to the Australian of the Year Awards in 2003, recognising those who make outstanding contributions to their community.
