Police are hunting a man who attempted to hold-up and rob the Ex Services Club in Bowraville last night.
Two men wearing balaclavas entered the club at around 11pm, and threatened patrons and staff with scissors and a plank of wood.
They then tried to steal alcohol and cash from behind the bar.
Patrons detained a 23-year-old local man, but his accomplice got away.
