Hunter Water spent all day repairing the pipe, and restoring water to about a dozen properties.
This water main has been leaking for years. It has been patched and tarred over on a number of occasions. This event was the result of poor, long term maintenance over a long period of time. 20 minutes response time? Pffft! People affected were trying to get through to Hunter Water for a lot longer than this, with no response and they eventually gave up. Thank goodness they finally answered a call and got moving.
