SAND PUMPING STARTS AT THE ENTRANCE
Good news for beachgoers…sand is now being pumped onto the Entrance Beach, in an effort to address ongoing erosion issues.
By mid-November, as much as 20, 000 cubic metres is expected to be dredged from the channel and pumped onto the beach.
Council and the local surf club are hoping the sand will cover the rocks and make the beach safe for swimming, but admit there’s no guarantees.
Meanwhile, council has also this week begun work on the three million dollar Waterfront upgrade.
