NEW ONLINE PLATFORM TO PRESERVE DIGITAL DOCUMENTS

Important documents detailing the Hunter’s cultural heritage can now be better preserved, following the launch of a new state-of-the-art online platform.

‘Living Histories at UON’ brings together decades of work by the University of Newcastle’s Cultural Collections team.

“There’s thousands and thousands of objects that have gone out into the digital world in a variety of different platforms…they’re all now coming back in and they’re coming back in to an in-house system so that we’ve got an insurance policy on all that material,” said University Archivist Gionni Di Gravio.
