We are currently experiencing conditions that more resemble summer. There is plenty of heat with more to come, building over the long weekend. This heat combined with a stalled trough sitting over the west of the state is creating quite a lot of instability. So the afternoons are seeing large amounts of cumulus cloud formation growing to the point of producing showers while others continue to grow into storms especially around the mountain areas. It will be a very a similar day tomorrow with this activity more widespread.
Over the long weekend the atmosphere will become stable and it will be hot and sunny for the entire region.
