The Maitland community is rallying around local rugby union player Dom Punch, following an on-field accident.
The Maitland Blacks hooker suffered a serious spinal injury during Sunday’s second grade grand final.
The 27 year old is currently in a critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit of Royal North Shore Hospital.
In an effort to raise money for his ongoing treatment and recovery a collection fund has been set up, while The Blacks are also planning a benefit.
