Locking your car may seem like common sense, but a spike in thefts from vehicles in Taree has prompted a warning from local police.
“Any time of the day or night unfortunately we can’t predict times- if we could do that we would have police in the area at the time that it’s going on,” Manning Great Lakes Senior Constable Ray Slade said.
Police say choosing to park in well lit areas and not leaving valuables in view could help reduce thefts.
The message comes as tourists flock to the coast, for the school holidays.
