MOCK CRASH AT PORT MACQUARIE AIRPORT
There was heightened activity at Port Macquarie Airport today, as emergency services conducted a crash training exercise.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority requires airport emergency procedures to be tested every two years.
Fire fighters, ambulance officers, SES and police responded to a scenario involving a mock fuselage on the runway.
The drill didn’t affect the airport’s normal operations.
