CHILDREN WORST AFFECTED DURING FLU SEASON
If you’ve been feeling a little under the weather lately, here’s some good news.
Doctors claim the worst of the flu season is now behind us, following a spike in the number of reported influenza cases in the last fortnight.
Health professionals say while there’s been an ‘average’ number of confirmed cases recorded among adults in the Hunter New England region, it’s been a particularly bad year for children and teenagers.
“Influenza can hit any time between July and September usually, that’s when the peak occurs. I think this is pretty typical, but probably worse for children than what we’ve seen for many years.”
