A new project aiming to reduce energy use on the Northern Tablelands has been named as a finalist in the state environmental awards.
The Northern Lights project will see more than 5, 000 LED street lights installed in several Northern Tablelands towns by November.
The initiative has been nominated in the Community Sustainable category.
The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Sydney on October 15.
