The procession of red and blue continued in Newcastle, with over a thousand people walking along the foreshore to mark the toddler’s disappearance.
SES volunteers who have helped in the search for William were joined by people of all ages on the sombre journey to Merewether Beach.
Some carried balloons and photos of the little boy, while many, old and young, donned spiderman costumes – an ode to the three-year-old’s now infamous picture.
