Newcastle has lost a passionate political activist, with the death of former Greens councillor, Margaret Henry.
Ms Henry was in the frontline of the fight to save the Laman Street figs, and was a tireless campaigner against the removal of Newcastle’s heavy rail line.
Margaret Henry died after a battle with pancreatic cancer – she was 81.
