Police have launched an investigation after a child was approached by a man at West Tamworth.
The 10-year-old was riding his bike along Stewart Avenue yesterday between 4.30 and 5pm when a man unknown to him started a conversation.
Police say the conversation continued until the man attempted to grab the boy’s bike. The boy rode away after a brief struggle.
The man is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, in his 50s with a skinny build and two front teeth missing. He was wearing a black hooded jumper with a brown/black backpack and a hat.
