They were on par at the recent kayak world titles, but Avoca’s Lachlan Tame has trashed his opposition at an exhibition event in Portugal over the weekend.
Racing in a surf ski format, the four-time Australian champion blitzed the field, which featured a number of world and Olympic champions.
Despite the lack of surf, Tame had more than 150-metres on his nearest rival.
He now heads to Rio de Janeiro for a test regatta on the Olympic course.
