RFS PREDICTS BUSY BUSH FIRE SEASON

The New South Wales Rural Fire Service is predicting a busy bushfire season, releasing a map forecast for the 2015-16 period.
The map shows the state’s east coast will be in for some ‘above normal’ bushfire activity.
The prediction comes as the service also marks the start of the ‘Bushfire Danger Period’, which prohibits the clearing of land or creation of fire breaks, without a fire permit.
LGA’s affected by the changes include; Ballina, Bellingen, Byron, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Glenn Innes, Gloucester, Taree, Nambucca and Muswellbrook.
The bushfire season doesn’t officially start until October 1.
