Lake Macquarie Council has confirmed three dogs have been removed from a Valentine property, after an eight-year-old girl reached under the fence and was attacked by one animal.
A dog welfare group is holding the Alaskan Malamute and the other two are being cared for by relatives while police and council continue investigations.
The little girl lost most of her right arm.
She’s recovering in John Hunter Hospital.
