Samantha Barlow, the now-retired police sergeant who was brutally bashed on her way to work in 2009, will be running one of the final legs of the 100-years of women in policing baton relay.
Now living in Port Macquarie, Barlow says she feels honoured to be involved in the event.
“Running across the Harbour Bridge at any time I’m sure is amazing but to be part of such a huge event will be wonderful.”
The baton relay has travelled to every local area command in the state, and will finish at the Opera House on Thursday.
