Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a five car pile-up on the Hunter Expressway this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene near John Renshaw Drive at about 5.30, to find vehicles from the north and southbound lanes had collided.
Three people suffered minor injuries, and a 20-year-old man was taken to John Hunter Hospital with neck pain.
The affected northbound lane was reopened to traffic about five hours later.
