NEWCASTLE TIME WALK A HIT WITH WOULD-BE GEOLOGISTS

The wet weather failed to deter would-be geologists today, with dozens taking part in the Newcastle Time Walk – part of National Science Week.
The aim of the Nobbys to Bogey Hole stroll was to give young and old a better look at our natural surroundings.
“Trying to give younger people a sense of the geology and the changes with time and the evidence of climate change that we see from the past, also the history of Newcastle, mining history how we’ve changed the coastline, the effect storms on our environment”
A second walk will take place on September 6.
