TERRIGAL-AVOCA STAYING GROUNDED AHEAD OF BDAFL FINALS RUN

It’s gone through 16 straight wins in the Black Diamond AFL competition, but Terrigal-Avoca isn’t buying into talk it’s a certainty for the flag.
Last week, head of the Black Diamond, Garry Burkinshaw, said he believes the Panthers are a better side this year, than last year when they won the flag.
“The culture at our club is that no one gets too far ahead of themselves or they’re whipped back into line pretty quickly. From the start of the season we’ve talked about going back-to-back, but going through undefeated and stuff like that is just not on our radar.”
On Saturday the side faces its biggest threat, second-place Newcastle City.
“It’s up there on their home ground, I know that they’ve had a few players in and out over the past couple, whether that’s through injury or resting or whatever, they’ll definitely be throwing everything at us this weekend.”
