A man has been arrested after a large scale police operation near Cessnock, late today.
The dog squad and a police helicopter were called in while all available vehicles set up a tight perimeter around bushland to the east of Cessnock.
The operation swung into action after a confirmed sighting of a man who was wanted for questioning over alleged domestic violence issues. It was uncertain whether the man was armed.
The search focussed on a maze of bush tracks but just before five o’clock the man was spotted and taken into custody by Central Hunter police.
