Veteran Coffs Harbour shooter John Radford has announced his retirement from competition.
The World Rimfire Shooting Champion says ongoing health problems have forced him to take a backseat.
Even so, the triple world record holder finished fifth in a field of 75 at the recent World Rimfire Championships in Brisbane.
The 76 year old’s efforts helped the Australian team to a bronze medal.
Radford says he’ll now concentrate on coaching at the Dairyville rifle range.
