UPDATED: TODDLER DIES IN CRASH SOUTH OF TAMWORTH

The young mother involved in a horror crash, that killed her two-year-old daughter and seriously injured her baby boy south of Tamworth, was driving despite having her learner’s licence suspended.
The toddler died at the scene and an 11-month-old boy was critically injured, after the car they were travelling in rolled down an embankment along the New England Highway at Willow Tree last night.
Inspector George Powderly from NSW Police told reporters in Sydney that the 20-year-old mother had her licence suspended a few months ago.
Police are also investigating whether the child was properly restrained.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Crash Investigation Unit at Tamworth on 6768 2890.
