COUNCIL VOTES TO STOP ABANDONED TROLLEYS

Coffs Harbour’s Mayor is taking the fight to clean up abandoned trolleys to the state government.
The Mayor will submit a motion to the annual local government conference, calling for councils to lobby for legislation that would force all commercial businesses to use coin-operated trolleys.
Similar rules already exist in Queensland, and Mayor Denise Knight believes regions like the mid north coast would also benefit.
Local Government New South Wales is expected to debate the motion at its annual conference in October.
