GARDENERS ENCOURAGED TO DO WATER WISE COURSE
Local gardeners are being encouraged to take part in a one-day TAFE course, which promotes water wise gardening during drought conditions.
“Hopefully educating people to understand that yes they can still have a garden and it’s not out of their realm of possibility, that they can do it just by thinking smarter.”
Council will provide a 50 per cent subsidy for participants who live in the region.
“What we’d like people to do is have a good look at their garden and see if there are any opportunities they can take advantage of to reduce their water consumption in the running of that garden so that might be going right back to square one and redesigning a garden from scratch.”
The course will take place on Saturday September 12.
